Dietitian To Discuss

  Healthy Eating Habits

DANBURY — The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, features a series of guest speaker programs at Danbury Hospital. The next meeting of the Diabetes Club of Danbury takes place on Monday, September 18, from 7:30 to 9 pm.

The featured speaker will be Linda Martinez, RD, certified diabetes educator, Danbury Hospital Endocrine & Diabetes Center of Western Connecticut, 25 Germantown Road. She will explain how developing and maintaining healthy eating habits is essential in managing diabetes.

The Diabetes Club of Danbury meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday of each month in September, October, March, April, May, and June. Robert Ruxin, MD, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, Section of Internal Medicine, is the medical director of the Diabetes Club of Danbury.

“The goal of the free monthly programs is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes,” said Dr Ruxin.
