Francisco Gagliardi, 78, of Monroe, beloved husband of Maria Brocco Gagliardi, died surrounded by his loving family on September 10 at St Vincentâs Medical Center. Mr Gagliardi was born on July 6, 1928, in Ansonia, and was the son of the late Antonio and Severina (Signore) Gagliardi.
In addition to his adoring and devoted wife, survivors include six children and their spouses, Michael and Stacy Gagliardi of Newtown, John and Debra Gagliardi of Monroe, Antonio and Pam Gagliardi of Trumbull, Frank and Barbara Gagliardi of Trumbull, Severina Gagliardi of Monroe and Annamarie and Ed Voccola of Milford; one sister, Josie Mauri of Shelton; six cherished grandchildren, John and Jeanna Gagliardi of Monroe, David and Jen Voccola of Trumbull, Tom Voccola of Monroe, Edward Voccola of Milford, and Stephen Gagliardi of Trumbull; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr Gagliardi was a retired auto mechanic and truck driver for Emery Air Freight. He served with pride, honor, and distinction in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He will be fondly remembered as an active and fun-loving person who was always around for his family and friends.
Funeral services were held September 13 at Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, Monroe, and in St Judeâs Church of Monroe with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment followed in the Gate of Heaven, St Monica Mausoleum, in Trumbull.
