High Holiday Services Planned By Chabad Center

DANBURY — In anticipation of the upcoming Jewish New Year, September 23—24, Chabad: Jewish Center serving Northern Fairfield County has announced its High Holiday Services schedule.

This will be the third year of services for the organization. They will be “warm, friendly and traditional,” says Rabbi Sholom Deitsch, the director of Chabad. Last year’s services were a “phenomenal” success, with large crowds in attendance, according to organizers.

Membership is not required to attend services. All are welcome, free of charge, regardless of background or affiliation. In addition, a special children’s program will accompany the adult services. All prayers will combine the original Hebrew, as well as translated English.

Services will be held on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, as well as Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. They will be held at The Hilton Garden Inn Danbury, 116 Mill Plain Road.

Evening services for Rosh Hashanah will be offered at 7 pm on Friday and Sunday, September 22 and 24.

Morning Rosh Hashanah services will begin at 10 am on Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24. Services will be followed by a Kiddush buffet. Sunday’s service will be followed by a Shofar blowing at 11:45 am.

Yom Kippur observance will begin on Sunday, October 1, with a 7 pm service that will include Hol Nidrei and a holiday opening. Services will also be held on Monday, October 2, at 10 am (including Yizkor) and 5:30 pm. The closing service will include Napoleon’s March, a final Shofar blast, Havdalla and break-fast buffet.
