Gas Prices Plunge

HARTFORD (AP) — Gasoline prices in Connecticut have dropped by 37 cents a gallon in the past month and the price is lower than it was a year ago, according to the AAA.

A report released Tuesday by AAA found the average price per gallon in Connecticut for regular gasoline was $2.85, a drop from last month’s average of $3.22 per gallon.

One year ago, Connecticut motorists were paying an average of $3.17 a gallon.

The national average reported Tuesday was $2.61 per gallon, a decrease from August’s average of $3. A year ago, the AAA survey said, the national average was $2.97 per gallon.
