WOODBURY - New Morning Store's 7th Annual Ice Cream Social did not disappoint - for those who attended the event as well as for those who will benefit from the generosity of those who attended.
WOODBURY â New Morning Storeâs 7th Annual Ice Cream Social did not disappoint â for those who attended the event as well as for those who will benefit from the generosity of those who attended.
This yearâs event proceeds, which benefit Safe Haven, a center for victims of domestic violence located in Southbury and Waterbury, netted $2,444.73. This included a 100 percent match by New Morning to the total dollars taken from the sale of the sundaes.
Each year, New Morning employees get behind the event several weeks ahead, begging for donations of delicious ice cream and toppings from its vendors. This year, farm fresh ice cream from Connecticut dairy Beaver Brook was added to the menu.
New Morning also negotiated large donations of personal care products for use at Safe Haven, whose facility is regularly challenged to provide for women and children on an emergency basis. Local musician Becca Anderson lent her beautiful voice as background music to eat ice cream by.
