The donut drive-through hosted by St John’s Episcopal Church in Sandy Hook returns this weekend.

Church members will be serving old-fashioned cake donuts, pumpkin spice donuts, apple fritters (with fresh apples from Jim Shortt), authentic English tea scones, chocolate-chip cinnamon pecan scones, Vermont maple-walnut scones; cinna-monster apple muffins, cherry-chocolate chip explosion muffins, and cranberry-orange muffins. There also will be coffee and apple cider available at the church, which is on Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook, on Saturday, September 18, from 9 am until 2 pm, or until the donuts are sold out.

The popular event is presented on the first Saturday of the month, May through August, but it will be held again this month as long as it isn’t rained out by the tail end of Hurricane Ivan. If there are only showers, the event will go on as planned, according to its organizers.
