Vipers Win Soccer Tourney

The Vipers, a new U10 boys’ soccer team from Newtown, walked away from their first tournament undefeated and as champions.

The boys captured the Kevin Barmak Memorial Labor Day Tournament title in Enfield by defeating Colchester One 4-1, Enfield 5-1, Vipers Colchester Two 6-1, Windsor Locks 4-2, and Westport White 4- 1.

The Vipers then opened league play with an impressive match against Westport White, winning 4-1.

Sean Arnold  found the back of the net twice and assisted Henry Vaughan’s goal. Dylan Sock scored an unassisted tally. Sock and Owen Sullivan each had an assist.

Adam Farley worked the field unrelentingly. CJ Trivers and Declan Sughrue had outstanding performances in and out of goal. On defense, Jackson Dooley, Travis Huzina,  and Danny Schreiber frustrated Westport’s offense. Brice Bisset and Jack McDermott were excellent as midfielders.
