To The Editor:

Do you ever feel like you are paying more and getting less? I certainly feel that way about my taxes here in Newtown. My bills are going up but I am not getting as much service in return.

We need a first selectman who knows how to lead large organizations and manage budgets with an understanding of the issues facing Newtown. That’s why I am supporting Bruce Walczak for First Selectman.

Bruce is a proven leader. As the owner of a highly profitable real estate consulting business for large corporate clients, he led national teams motivated to yield positive outcomes. Bruce knows how to keep the books and operate in the black in the face of inflation, recession, and volatile interest rates. These are skills we need in the First Selectman’s office.

Bruce has also been a community leader with the Lions Club, United Way, and The Family Counseling Center. He served Newtown on the Economic Development Commission, the Police Commission, the Borough Historic Commission, and the Business Advisory Group.

Bruce’s knowledge of the issues facing Newtown, past and present, is an invaluable asset. He is a good and careful listener. His decisions are not based on partisan ideology, but on practical considerations. He reaches across the aisle and collaborates for solutions that make the best use of our resources.

Bruce will ensure that all of Newtown’s officials and residents know what’s going on!
