To The Editor:

I am proud to share my support and endorsement for my good friend, Ben Ruben, who is running for re-election in the Legislative Council District 3.

Since moving to our community, Ben has been a constant force for good. He works hard to bring people together regardless of their background or political views, listens to and values all perspectives, seeks common ground and keeps the bigger picture in mind — improving Newtown as a whole.

On a personal note, Ben inspired me to get more involved in our community. When he had to step down from the Newtown Community Center Commission after being elected to the Legislative Council, he encouraged me to apply. Because of his encouragement, I’ve gotten the chance to contribute to the town in ways I may not have otherwise and it has been so rewarding being a deeper part of this community.

District 3 is lucky to have someone like Ben representing them and I hope voters will keep him on the Council this November.
