An Evening With Dr Henry Lee

SOUTHBURY — Safe Haven along with the Watermark at East Hill will sponsor “An Evening with Dr Henry Lee,” one of the world’s foremost forensic scientists, on Friday, October 3.

Dr Lee will be speaking about his most challenging cases of the last 45 years. His work has made him a landmark in modern day criminal investigations. He has worked with law enforcement agencies in helping to solve more than 8,000 cases.

His testimony figured prominently in the O.J. Simpson trial, and the convictions of the “Woodchipper” murderer as well as hundreds of other murder cases. Dr Lee has assisted local and state police in their investigations of other famous crimes, such as the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, the 1993 suicide of White House Counsel Vincent Foster, the murder of White House intern Chandra Levy, the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart, the Laci Peterson case, and the reinvestigation of the Kennedy assassination.

Dr Lee — who continues to serve a commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Safety, is the state’s chief criminologist, is director of the Connecticut State Police Forensic Science Laboratory, and is a professor in the forensic science program at the University of New Haven — will mingle with guests from 7 to 8 pm before giving his lecture at 8. Tickets are $50 per person, which includes a wine bar and appetizers. Tickets are limited to the first 130 guests.

Tickets are on sale at Southbury Community Thrift Shop, 66-F Bennett Square in Southbury and Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, 29 Central Avenue in Waterbury.

Proceeds of the event will benefit victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Southbury and surrounding towns.

The Watermark at East Hill is at 611 East Hill Road. For tickets and more information call 203-575-0388.
