To the Editor:

I was pleasantly surprised to see spokespeople from Mom's Demand Action at the recent Newtown Health Fair [Saturday, September 17] as the issue of gun safety is, as cigarettes and seat belts once were, a public health crisis begging for present day reform.

It was also refreshing to observe them conversing with Republican officials [Representative Mitch] Bolinsky and [Senator Tony] Hwang, as well as with gun and non-gun owners alike - sharing stories, opinions, and perspective, free of judgment or disdain.
