Area Families Invited To Danbury Networkâs Family Day
DANBURY â While raising funds in the fight against child abuse and neglect, Families Network of Western CT, Inc., will host its Fourth Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, October 1, from 11 am to 4 pm, at the CityCenter Green. Admission is free to the rain or shine event which will feature games, arts, crafts, food, and entertainment for the whole family.
âFamily Fun Day is a fun and affordable way to spend some quality time with your kids,â said Sue Giglio, executive director of Families Network of Western CT, Inc. âItâs such a great way to celebrate family togetherness while helping a good cause.â
More than three million cases of child abuse and neglect are reported each year in the United States. Last year, more than 2,500 cases of child abuse and neglect were reported in the greater Danbury Area. Families Network of Western CT, Inc. strives to lower the risk of child abuse and neglect by empowering parents through education and support services. Services they provide include parent mentoring, parenting support groups, intensive home visitation, and infant injury prevention.
By helping people become better parents, Family Networkâs goal is to give children the safe and healthy start that they deserve.
All of the services provided by Families Network of Western CT, Inc. are free of charge and participation is voluntary. Programs are offered to parents who live in the ten towns known of the Greater Danbury Area: Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman.
