Oktoberfest Raises Funds

For Botsford Fire Rescue

Setting up instruments and amps on a makeshift stage, Fast Ricky band members were ready to entertain at the weekend’s Botsford Fire Rescue Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 17.

“It’s the first time we did this,” said Chief Wayne Ciaccia. He and other members held the event to help raise funds for firehouse equipment and programs.

Several members “got together” and planned the afternoon and evening of music and sauerkraut and sausage, he and other fire department members agreed.

Todd Bolmer and Patrick Keough greeted guests, including brother and sister Connor and Kayla Sinapi and their mother Jen. Standing near the band and watching band members Kevin Kwas, Bill Babbino, and Jake West set up the equipment was Jim Swenson with his son and daughter Nick and Rachel.

Inside the firehouse, and Karen Dugan served dinner alongside 32-year department member Marty Schertzer. Susan Doyle was among guests enjoying dinner and the band’s music that evening.
