DUI Arrest

Police report that while on patrol about 1:16 am September 23, they spotted motorist Gaetan Morin, 61, of Danbury driving a vehicle that was crossing over the road’s center lines, so they stopped Morin near 134 Mt Pleasant Road to investigate.

Police charged Morin with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right on a curve.

Police said they held Morin on $1,000 bail for an arraignment later that day in Danbury Superior Court.

High School Theft

Police said they learned that students at Newtown High School on September 21 had discovered that some personal electronic devices which they had left in their bags in a room were missing.

An investigation by school officials and police resulted in police charging a youth under age 18 with sixth-degree larceny in connection with the incident. Sixth-degree larceny involves the theft of items worth less than $500.

The arrested youth was released on a written promise to appear in court on October 4, police said.

Because the person charged is under age 18, their identity is shielded from disclosure by state law.
