Expert Speaking On Business Uses Of Facebook

MERIDEN — Businesses interested in increasing their bottom line cannot afford to ignore forms of social media on the Internet such as Facebook.  With 500 million users worldwide, 1.2 million alone in Connecticut,  Facebook is a marketing tool that can increase customers and boost profits. 

The nonprofit Community Economic Development Fund will host a 90-minute workshop on Facebook 101: The Business Edition, Thursday, September 30, from 6:30 to 8 pm, at 965 East Main Street. The cost is $10 for CEDF clients, and $25 for the general public.

Leading the workshop will be Maria Miranda, owner of Miranda Creative, an advisor on social media marketing since 2008 and a speaker for many regional Chambers of Commerce.

The workshop will feature a social media overview and its place in a business plan; best practices for security and postings; advertising and promotional pages; measurement tools and much more.
