George David Zurman, Jr, recently from Newtown and previously from Cheshire, died September 15. He was born in Stamford, on July 9, 1946, the son of Veronica Thomas Zurman and George D. Zurman, Sr.
Mr Zurman was an outstanding leader and athlete when he graduated from Rippowam High School in 1964. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1969 with a degree in business administration. After working with GE for three years, he joined the Hubbell Corporation where he worked as a corporate officer and vice president of human resources until his retirement at the end of 2004.
He had a passionate interest in American history and was a collector of antique furniture and toys. He loved cars â MGs were his favorite. George was known and loved for his positive attitude, optimistic outlook, sense of humor, and quick wit.
Recently married, he is survived and greatly missed by his wife, Carol DeAngelis Bussey; his mother, Veronica; his son, Todd Zurman; his sister, Beverly Nash and her children; as well as numerous cousins, and his âgrandfriends,â Carolâs seven grandchildren.
A celebration of resurrection took place September 20. Interment was in St Johnâs Cemetery, Darien.
