Invasive Removal September 25
Invasive Removal September 25
An invasive species removal session for mile-a-minute vine at Huntington (Road) Open Space is scheduled for this Saturday, September 25, at 9 am. A similar session last weekend coordinated by Conservation Commission members and volunteers went well, but more work remains, said Mary Gaudet-Wilson, a Conservation Commission member.
âOur session last weekend went very well and over 30 bags of mile-a-minute vines were removed,â Ms Gaudet-Wilson said this week. âHowever, more work remains and it would be good to clear out as much as possible for this season.â
Parking is available across the street from the location at an old store at 136 Huntingtown Road, about two miles from its intersection with Route 25.
Long sleeves and pants are advised against ticks. Sunscreen and gloves are strongly suggested.
âLetâs keep it going,â Ms Gaudet-Wilson said via email this week. âAnd bring a friend if you know of someone who would like to help.â
