‘Kindness For Kim’ Will Aid One Resident’s Battle Against Cancer

Kim D’Amico’s friends have rallied to support her fight against Stage Three breast cancer.

“Kindness for Kim,” a fundraiser sponsored by Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor and Ms D’Amico’s friends, is planned for Saturday, October 2, from 7:30 to 10 pm, at the St Rose of Lima Church gathering hall, 42 Church Hill Road.

Ms D’Amico, according to flyers that have been posted around town, explain “Kim is a long-time resident … many people know Kim as their hairdresser. [She is] the warmest, most generous and loving relative and friend.” At the center is a photo of Ms D’Amico with her son Shane.

Ms D’Amico is self-employed and will be unable to work for quite some time. An event invitation on Facebook also explains that Kindness for Kim is “an opportunity to help our friend Kim D’Amico.”

Guests can expect a silent auction, and plenty of wine and finger foods. Tickets are $25 and are available at Newtown Color Center, Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor, Club NewFit, Berkshire Motors, and the Tax Collector’s office at Newtown Municipal Center.

Proceeds will defer some of her medical costs. Donations may also be sent to Kindness for Kim, PO Box 212, Newtown CT 06470.
