3rd Annual Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Clothing Drive, 8 am–4 pm, NVAC headquarters, 77 North Main Street, clothing, bedding, linens, and small household items in working order (no toiletries or perishables) collected for Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, tax receipts available; 203-270-4380.

Invasive Species Removal Session, 9 am, 136 Huntingtown Road, volunteers sought to help members of Newtown Conservation Commission members in removal of mile-a-minute vine, long sleeves and pants advised, sunscreen and gloves also strongly suggested.

Guided Nature Hike, 10 am, Holcombe Hill Preserve, 55 Great Hill Road, free and open to all levels (family participation encouraged), guided hike led by member(s) of Newtown Forest Association to one of town’s highest elevations, 1–2 hours long, wear proper clothing & footwear, BYO water and food; 203-270-3650.

17th Annual Newtown Health Fair, 10 am–2 pm, Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street, free, health screenings, visit with health care providers, public safety representatives, et al, also food drive for Salvation Army Food Pantry, flu shots, raffles & drawings.
