Chris Lyddyâs involvement in the community in which we live has not gone unnoticed over the past two years. He is always willing to listen to an issue, and then follow up with the research and the hard work required to help a cause.
Chris has been very supportive of Newtownâs volunteer fire companies. He has done extensive research into obtaining grants for equipment and firehouse construction. When CL&P made a decision to restrict night lighting at the firehouses, causing a safety concern for members responding to night calls, it was Chris who stepped in to rectify the situation.
Chris has been actively involved in the continuing revitalization of Sandy Hook Center. Immediately after taking office, he continued the efforts to have the state replace the traffic light in Sandy Hook in order to improve safety there. He joined in the local merchantsâ and residentsâ efforts to extend the water line to better service the district. With the help of the current boards and council, the water line extension is becoming a reality. Chris has given his support to extending the streetscape in the district, as well.
Letâs give Chris the support he deserves so he can continue to work for all of us.
