Elect An Advocate
Elect An
Advocate
To the Editor:
Iâm writing in support of Will Rodgers for 106th District state representative. One thing I believe people need to realize is how Willâs role will change if we send him to Hartford. Because he has been chair of our Legislative Council for five years, he has had to assume a more neutral, leadership-oriented role on the council. As a rank and file legislator in Hartford, however, Will would be able to return to what is for him his professional roots: advocacy.
Will is an attorney and I have appreciated his advocacy of his positions in other contexts, such as Republican Town Committee. I am told Will was a forceful advocate for positions when a lay member of the Legislative Council during the six years preceding his chairmanship. Will is used to advocating for a living and he will advocate for all of Newtown, including for greater state aid for education and transportation. Please join me in voting to send him to Hartford on November 4.
