Catching Up With The Captains

Captains from the Newtown High School field hockey team reflect on how the season has progressed and express their expectations for the campaign. The Nighthawks, despite graduating eight starters from last year’s team, are off to a strong start. They are 4-0-1 thus far.

Taylor Barry: “So far so good. I never really knew what to expect coming into this season. We’ve lived up to expectations from previous years and we’ve surprised some people.”

Linda Magliocco: “I’m really proud of the younger girls who have stepped it up. They’ve been doing great.”

Alyssa Carey: “We definitely had some big shoes to fill with them going so far last year. We all support each other and we all push each other.”

Jackie Isabella: “Our forward line, our defensive line and our midfield line are all really strong. It’s really balanced.”
