Mustangs 4, Wildcats 0 âThe Mustangs were led by Kaitlyn King with two goals, and Karsen Pirone and Juliette Cryder each with one. Hannah Groonell of the had an assist and Jillian Carrino anchored the defense. For the Wildcats, Colleen Phaneuf, Rylee Harrell, Madeline Larson and Carlie Smith played well on the field and in the goalie position.

Fighting Irish 4, American Eagles 2 â For the Fighting Irish, Jenna Lavelle and Priya Deraney each scored two goals. Elizabeth Mawdsley played outstanding defense and Isabella Satmary was solid in the goal. For the American Eagles, Rylee Mulligan and Olivia Hage scored goals. Brianna Lovely made several saves in goal. Lauren Carrino and Joy Metzger led the teamâs strong defensive effort.
Shooting Stars 1, Lightning 0 â For the Shooting Stars, Elizabeth Weisgerber scored the winning goal for the Shooting Stars. Grainne Flanagan and Molly Ma played excellent defense. Jackie Seras was strong on offense. For the Lightning, Kaitlyn Reilly and Allie Paynter played intimidating defense. Haley Harkins and Katie Peterson controlled the ball and Danielle Otero made four saves in goal.
Thundering Jaguars 5, Monkees 2 â Bella Jimenez put in two goals, and Carolina Stubbs, Alexis Mason, and Alex Futterman all scored for the Thundering Jaguars. Audrey Sedensky played great defense. The Monkeesâ goals were scored by Emma Boland and Sophia Andrew. Abby Clark and Nathalie Schickendantz played great games.
Dynamites 2, Desserts 2 - Dynamitesâ player Sarah Houle scored two second-half goals to earn a tie with the Desserts. Ally Tolson and Nahdi Bropleh scored a goal each for the Desserts. Kira Kelly and Danny Gaiser played well defensively for the Dynamites, as did Dessertsâ players Carly Swierbut and Elisabeth Salley. Ashley Santore and Catherine Shaw (Dynamites) and Natalie Kelchner and Jacklin Gouveia (Desserts) were overall standouts.

Mustangs 2, Funky Monkeys 1 â Erin Tressler and Jillian Pieretti scored a goal each and Danielle Scarpa and Ashling Sugarman played solid defense in the win. Lauren King and Sarah Macmullan also played well on offense for the Mustangs.
The Crushers 3, Lightning 0 - Goals were scored by Emily Booth, Julia Doyle, and Madison Pirone. Claire Beiter played well in goal for the Crushers. Katie Reilly, Chloe Rogalin, and Jillian Milano led the Lightning.
Lightning Bolts 4, Funky Monkeys 0 â Marina Renzi scored the first quarter goal. Sydney Flint, Elizabeth Chamiec-Case, and Allie Indelicato scored the Lightningâs second quarter goals.
Penguins, 2 Mustangs 0 â Jessica Maturo and Stefanie Carr each scored goals to lead the Penguinsâ offense. Sophia Albano and Diana Kirkman each played a solid game defensively to secure the win. For the Mustangs, Ashling Sugarman and Natlie Shaker contributed to the offensive pressure. Isabella Luciano and Brianna Straiton played excellent defense allowing for a scoreless second half.

Easton Redding 4, Comets 1 â Casey Harkins scored the lone goal off a combined assist by Mikayla Kuligowski and Kimberly Brello, while Brittney Antous and Haley Trudell provided strong offensive support. Alyssa Ruefenacht and Katie Mossbarger shared time in goal and Mossbarger made exceptional saves in the second half.

Newtown Lightning 3, Stamford 0 â Sarah Lynch scored two goals and Kelsey Muniz had one as the team took home its third consecutive shutout. Newtown controlled the offensive play throughout the game, with solid contributions from Emily Riley, Jessica Keller, and Kailee Dunnigan. Meaghan Brophy was a force on defense and in the midfield, and Kate Fallon and Siena Cicarelli were tough in the nets for the Lightning.

Twisters 5, Team number two 0 â Two goals were scored for the Twisters by Kerry Scallon. One goal each scored by Anita Luxkaranayagam, Isabella Saraceni, and Lauren Sarna. Jenna Hansen played strong defense. For Team two, Gabby Kalinowski, Hannah Grant, Anna Buzzanca, Sara Rohde, and Madigan Chrystie all played good games.
Newtown Flash 2, Norwalk 1 â Meaghan Harkins scored with an assist by Lindsay Jossick. Brittany Tolla outmaneuvered Norwalkâs defense to score on a breakaway. Lyndsey Pearlman and Maria Biondi dominated the midfield while Kelly Brooks played skillful defense.

 Fireballs 2, Team six 4 â Johnathan Liberante of the Fireballs played aggressively on offense and C.J. Giacin was strong in defending the goal. The Fireballsâ Hunter Kirkman scored off of an assist by Justin Engler. Aidan Stout and Steve Sedensky of Team six played shut-down defense. Justin DeThomas controlled the ball offensively for Team 6.
Huskies 6, Lightning Thunder 3 â Atilla Sepkin five goals and Harry Kelchner tallied one. Aiden Kennedy played tough defense and Derek Seiber was all over the field. Jack Stanton played a great game in the goal.

 Cobras 4, Team seven 0 â Tyler Trede scored two goals for the Cobras and Austin Smith had one assist. Forrest Anderson, Grant Moxham, and Thomas Hartley played great defense for Team seven.
Italian Stallions 4, The Oskars 2 â Tim Kelly and Evan Swain each scored two goals to lead the offensive effort for the Stallions. Josh Tuffy and Patrick Haggerty each played a solid defensive game to secure the win. Blake Untiedt, Jake Locorontondo, and Brandon Unger of the Oskars anchored the defense and Erik von Schleusingen played a great overall game.
Hurricanes 2, Hawks 0 â Mathew Gerbo and Jeffery Gioiele both scored for the Hurricanes. Sean Arnold and Ryan Beardsley both had great defensive games for the Hurricanes. For the Hawks, Matthew Blanco and Nick Weiland had great all around games, while Rick Irving and Joel Duval played strong in defense.

The Newtown Storm 3, Fairfield 2 â Newtown took the lead in the first few minutes with a goal by Austin Engler. Shane Gattey added the first of his two goals for a 2-1 lead at the half. Gattey added his second goal of the day in the middle of the second half. Fairfield scored to make it 3-2 but Newtownâs defense of Robert Katrinak, Forest Weatherby, and Jack Riley stopped any remaining attempts. Richard Ciamarra and Luke Caplan played aggressively on offense while Alex Hess played well in goal.
Nighthawks 6, Flipping Fladoodles 5 â For the Nighthawks, Zachary Boland scored four goals while Chris Rovelli and Zachary Laros scored one apiece. Mark Urso took control of the defense and Nicholas played a great defensive game at midfield. The Flipping Fladoodles had a balanced attack with two goals by Matthew Bucci and one goal each by Jordan Klein, Ryan Kost, and Kai Toomey. Barrett DeYoung played well at midfield, Ian Klepecki had a great game on defense and Christian Morlock made great saves in goal.

Strikers 3, Darien 1 â The Newtown Strikers won their first game in State Cup play with a 3-1 victory over Darien White. Jonathan Guilherme, Cole Rogalin, and James Carney each netted a goal in the win, while Alex Gerbo, Ryan Kiss, and Robby Schreiber were key on offense. Matt Stewart played well in goal.

Ridgefield Orange 4, Strikers 2 â The Strikers suffered their first loss in district play with a 4-2 loss to Ridgefield. Cole Rogalin scored the first early in the first half, and Jonathan Guilherme added the second goal. Liam McNichols and Tyler Dullinger played strong defensively.

Wilton 3, Newtown White Lightning 2 âJeremy Doski scored off an assist from Will Swain. Nathyn Horvath scored off an assist from Ryan King. Patrick Rowley, Carter Norman, Daniel Hamula, and Raymond Xue controlled play in the midfield. The defense was led by Kevin Droniak, Knute Johnson, Michael Cook, and Sawyer Conrad. Pete Manfredonia played well in goal.

Newtown Beasts 5, Simsbury 0 â The Beastsâ offense was led by Stefan Dullingerâs two goals and one each from Grant Ricketts, Matt Mossbarger, and Robert Linden. Jonathan Schwartz and Doug Miller had strong games.
Newtown Beasts 4, Stamford 1 â The Beastsâ first tally by Stefan Dullinger was followed by three goals from Grant Ricketts to lead the Newtown offense. Harry Solaski and Garrison Buzzanca consistently applied offensive pressure. Connor Gallagher, Owen Gaston, Wesley Morlock, and Jonah Muniz were strong on defense. Austin Raftery was solid in goal.

Cobras 3, Easton/Redding 1 â The offense was powered on goals by Sam Langdon, Nick Gerboâs header assist to Kieran Lardner and Pieter Martinoâs penalty kick. Defensively, the efforts of Robert Willis, Yossi Kohrman-Glaser, Colin Moller, and Matt Rahtelli shut down the Easton/Redding offense. Midfield was controlled by Devin DiNicola and Francis Saraceni.

Cobras 2, Trumbull 0 â The Newtown Cobras took over sole possession of first place in the SWD A Division. Pieter Martino continued his scoring frenzy by netting the first goal and assisting Nick Gerbo. Patrick Riccardi, Ian Solaski, Mergim Bajraliu, and Kieran Lardner peppered the Trumbull goalie with shots. This was Sean Elliottâs first shutout of the season. Tyler Ruefenacht, Stephen Conway, Noah Sock, and Devin DiNicola controlled midfield play.
Strikerz 2, The Thez 1 â Charlie Poarch scored twice for the Strikerz. Austin Isola also kept up the offensive pressure. Tyler Lenox and James Leuci played well at midfield and Michael Stierle had another great night as goalkeeper. For The Thez, Ryan Szalay scored on an assist by Otto Kerler. Bobby Silver and Jared Wray played strong games and Matt Wood played well in goal.
Oskars 3, Man U 2 â Ryan Pisani and Spencer Tolson scored for the Oskars, Blake Jarvis was solid on defense and Josh Harrison was great in goal. Gavin Scallon and Brandon Marks scored for Man U, Akash Ahuja played well on wing and James Barry played tough on defense.
Man U 4, Beast of the East 2 â Gavin Scallon scored a hat-trick, Henry Summ scored an unassisted goal and Brendon Marks added a goal for Man U. Anthony Vournazos played a great game in goal and Alister Sore and Chris Horkachuck played well on defense. Matt Rosa scored two goals, Tyler Coleman had an assist for Beast of the East and Brad Kretz played a strong game at midfield.
