Marching Nighthawks Continue

Winning Streak

The Newtown Marching Nighthawks won the Class IV Division of the Musical Arts Conference competition hosted by Bethel High School on Saturday, September 20. The band’s performance of “Vitruvian Man” scored 74.85 to defeat both Danbury High School and New Fairfield High School marching bands. This competition marks the second competitive win in a row for the 84 Nighthawk band and color guard members in 2008, who will compete in the 2008 Musical Arts Conference championship on November 8 at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport. The Marching Nighthawks have won the Musical Arts Conference championship three years in a row. The band competes again on Saturday, September 27, at New Milford High School.
