MV Charges
Police were conducting speed enforcement on Swamp Road about 10 am September 18, when they stopped motorcyclist Flaviano Carvalhaes, 32, of Bridgeport, who was traveling more than 60 miles per hour there, police said.
After investigating, police charged Carvalhaes with speeding, driving without a license, and driving without automotive insurance.
After processing, police released Carvalhaes on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on October 2.
Warrant
Police said that while on patrol at about 11:50 pm on September 18, they spotted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at Sand Hill Plaza on South Main Street, so they investigated.
Police said the vehicleâs driver, Robert Morrison, 54, of Danbury was found to have an active warrant on a charge of sixth-degree larceny pending against him by Danbury police in connection with a past incident.
Newtown police said they took Morrison into custody, after which they turned him over to Danbury police.
Berkshire Rollover
Police report a vehicle rollover accident involving a minivan carrying six people near 43 Berkshire Road on the morning of September 6.
Police said motorist Nikkia Howard, 31, of New Haven was driving a 2003 Ford Windstar carrying five adult passengers eastward on Berkshire Road, when while negotiating a curve in the road, the minivan crossed the roadâs center line and went off the westbound road shoulder, struck a mailbox, turned sideways and then rolled over onto its roof.
All six people in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts, police said. All people were examined at the scene by volunteer ambulance staffers and then released, police said.
Police said they verbally warned Howard for failure to drive to the right on a curve.
Walnut Tree Hill Road
Motorist Anthony Whitlock, 20, of Southbury was driving a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse westward near 120 Walnut Tree Hill Road early on the morning of September 6, when the auto went off the road to the right and struck a utility pole, police said.
The impact split the pole in half, causing utility lines to be dragged across the road.
Police said that when they arrived on the scene after 3:42 am, Whitlock had left the area on foot. Whitlock went to the police station later that day to discuss the collision with police.
Police said the accident remains under investigation.
Vandalism
Sometime between 10 am and 11 pm on September 12, someone intentionally scratched the surface of the driverâs door on a vehicle parked at the Rock Ridge Country Club at 214 Sugar Street in Dodgingtown, police said. The crime constitutes third-degree criminal mischief. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Officer John McCluskey at the police station at 426-5841.
Vehicular Violations
About 10:30 pm on September 21, police spotted motorist Beatriz Pagan, 38, of Waterbury driving a vehicle on Wasserman Way that had a defective headlamp, so they stopped her to investigate.
Police charged her with driving a vehicle with a defective headlamp, driving with a suspended license, and with failure to renew a vehicle registration.
Police released Pagan on a written promise to appear October 6 in Danbury Superior Court.
Pedestrian
Police report a collision involving an automobile and a pedestrian about 5:12 pm September 20 at the driveway entrance to 85 South Main Street.
Motorist Madeline Allen, 40, of 26½ South Main Street was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza southward and attempting to make a left turn into the driveway at 85 South Main Street, police said.
At that time, pedestrian Mike Kavulich, 22, of Monroe was walking northward along the northbound road shoulder and was crossing the driveway entrance, police said.
The auto then collided with Kavulich, with Kavulich receiving minor injuries, police said. Police issued Allen an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.

Three Charges
Police received a report about 5 pm September 20, concerning a motor vehicle accident that had occurred on Susan Lane.
Police said their investigation indicated that motorist Janice Sajovic, 59, of 9 Susan Lane, who was driving a 2008 Chrysler convertible northward on Susan Lane, had struck a residential mailbox along the roadâs right shoulder and then continued driving without stopping. There were no injuries.
Police said they charged Sajovic with evading responsibility, making a restricted turn, and failure to renew a vehicle registration.
Police said they released Sajovic on $300 bail for an October 7 court appearance.
Alcohol
Police report they charged two local males with alcohol violations following an incident about 9 pm September 20 in the parking lot at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street.
Police said they observed Matthew Eriquez, 21, of 3 Hawthorne Hill Road place some alcohol in a minorâs vehicle in the parking lot. Police said they then stopped the vehicle to investigate.
Police said they charged Eriquez with delivery of alcohol to a minor. Police released Eriquez on $250 bail for an October 7 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Additionally, police said they issued the minor, Dustin Gill, 19, of 10 Maple Drive, an infraction for possession of alcohol by a minor. That violation carries a $136 fine, which is appealable in court.
Jeep Vs Honda
On the afternoon of September 20, motorist Joy Patchey, 76, of Pawling, N.Y., who was driving a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was backing out of the driveway at 17 Birch Rise Drive, when the Jeep backed into an unoccupied 1995 Honda Accord station wagon, which was parked on the shoulder of nearby Juniper Road, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Patchey a written warning for unsafe backing.
South Main Crash
About 1 pm on September 20, motorist Iris Mendes, 24, of 301 South Main Street, Unit C-4, who was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon northward on South Main Street, was attempting to make a right turn into the driveway at 301 South Main Street, police said.
At that time, northbound motorist Adam Kenyhercz, 26, of Stratford, who was driving a 1995 Honda Accord, attempted to pass the Chevrolet on the right, but collided with it, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Kenyhercz a written warning for passing on the right.
MV Violations
Police report that at about 2:10 pm September 23, they stopped motorist Emily Brolet, 23, of 9 Green Knolls Lane near the intersection of Currituck Road and Stony Brook Road to investigate.
Police said they charged Brolet with driving an unregistered motor vehicle and with driving under suspension. Police released Brolet on a written promise to appear on October 7 in Danbury Superior Court.
