Quilts Across The Centuries

RIDGEFIELD — On Saturday, October 4, Nutmeg Quilters Guild and Keeler Tavern Museum & Garden House have teamed up to plan and present “Quilts Across the Centuries,” two shows of quilts both old and new.

The displays, which will be open from 1-4 pm at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church (207 Main Street) and Keeler Tavern Museum & Garden House (132 Main Street), will include vintage quilts from the museum’s collections and private collectors, as well as contemporary quilts made by members of Nutmeg Quilters Guild. Close to 100 quilts will be on display at the two locations.

Admission is $12 for adults (free for ages 17 and under) covers viewing the quilts at both sites, tea and refreshments, a museum tour, quilting demonstrations, and participation in door prize drawings throughout the afternoon.

Parking will be at Jesse Lee Memorial, which is easy walking distance to the museum.

The nonprofit Nutmeg Quilters Guild (NutmegQuilters.org), which is displaying its quilts at Jesse Lee Memorial but is not affiliated with The United Methodist Church, has more than 60 active members who meet monthly at Ridgefield Parks & Recreation.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Keeler Tavern Museum & Garden House (KeelerTavernMuseum.org), also a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is Ridgefield’s historic house museum, where the town’s Colonial history, including its role in the American Revolution, comes alive.

For additional information concerning the quilt show, call 203-431-1577 or 203-438-5485, or visit either of the websites in the previous two paragraphs.
