The Newtown High School field hockey team extended its winning streak to three with a 1-0 win at Weston on September 17, then played another close game, falling 4-3 to host Lauralton Hall of Milford on September 22.

In the win over Weston Lucia Romano scored on a cross from Charlotte Grasso. Evelynn Schoen, Emily O'Neil, Amanda Faircloth, and Keira Campbell all had great games. Goaltender Stella Wasley made ten saves, including stopping a penalty shot early in the first quarter to keep the game scoreless at the time.

Against Lauralton Hall, Schoen scored twice — once off a corner assisted by Grasso on the insert and again when she banged home a rebound — and Kayla Locke scored off an assist by O'Neil. Wasley recorded 12 saves and Corynn Hettenbach and Faircloth recorded defensive saves. Schoen, O'Neil, Keira Campbell, and Locke played great games for the Nighthawks.
