The Friends of Newtown Seniors is sponsoring a shredding day, in cooperation with Newtown Public Schools, Newtown Parks & Recreation, Senior Services, and the Commission on Aging, on Saturday, October 1, from 10 am to 1 pm, at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.

Residents and business owners from Newtown and surrounding towns are welcome to bring documents and papers to be shredded by Iron Mountain.

There is a cost of $10 for each box roughly equivalent to a 10-ream paper box ($5 for senior citizens). Oversized boxes will be charged an additional fee at the discretion of the organizing committee.

All proceeds benefit senior programs in Newtown.

Questions about the event can be directed to John Boccuzzi, Sr, at jboccuzzi@yahoo.com or call 203-364-0360.
