Time For Action On Alzheimer's
Time For Action On Alzheimerâs
To the Editor:
September 21... Alzheimerâs Action Day... September is Alzheimerâs Month... sad that so many donât have a voice, because they donât have one anymore as an individual and their caretaker is too exhausted and depleted to advocate for an end to this horror!
All of these folks are hidden or âstoredâ away, while we founder at gaining the momentum needed to slow this thing down, much less find (fund) a cure for it...5.5 million people that we know of times at least two or three family members = 20 million advocates/votes! If we could get everyone of those folks organized and yapping at DC, we could certainly force ourselves to fund a cure.
Remember AIDS? Polio? Small pox? and so many more...it is just inexcusable of us to accept. Thirteen million will be afflicted in 2050, costing us $20 trillion â makes todayâs deficit a joke. If Obama doesnât bankrupt us, this disease certainly will... financially, and more importantly, it will destroy the fabric of so many families.
