Girl Scout Open House Planned For October 7

Parents and girls interested in learning more about and becoming involved in Girl Scouting are invited to a Girl Scout Open House to be held on Thursday, October 7. The event will begin at 7 pm in the cafeteria at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.

The open house is for those who are new to Girl Scouts, those who are interested in continuing (but perhaps a former troop is not), and those who have been a Girl Scout in the past and wants to return. Girls will be able to learn what fun activities and exciting events Girl Scouts provides for girls in Newtown, and sign up for the new year of Scouting.

Girl Scouting provides safe programs and places in which to grow, outdoor opportunities, opportunities for community service, and girl and adult mentors and role models.

Girl Scouts can experience new places and activities, learn life skills, make new friends.

Girl Scouts of Connecticut is the premier organization for girls in the state, providing nearly 65,000 girls and adults with opportunities and experiences that develop their potential and empower them with self-confidence and leadership skills to improve themselves and the world around them.
