Wheels Stolen
Police report the theft of four automobile wheels from a driveway sometime between 2 pm on September 10, and noon on September 12.
The wheels are aluminum, have five spokes, and are 16 inches in diameter. The wheels bear the brand name Borbet.
Police received a call on the morning of September 13 from a man at a Little Brook Lane residence reporting that the wheels had been stolen. Police ask anyone with information on the theft to contact Officer John McCluskey at the police station, 203-426-5841.
Church Hill Road        Collision
Police report a two-vehicle accident on the section of Church Hill Road in front of the Blue Colony Diner on September 14.
The collision involved motorist Carmen Soto, 59, of Hollywood, Fla., who was driving a 2008 Toyota station wagon, and motorist Mary Cleary, 69, of Southbury, who was driving a 2008 Toyota sedan, police report.
Soto was treated for injuries at the scene by ambulance volunteers, police said. Police said they verbally warned Soto for failure to grant the right of way.
South Main Impact
Motorist Melinda Cash, 31, of 57 Taunton Lake Road was driving a 2006 Chrysler van northward near 63 South Main Street about 4 pm September 21 and then stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Chrysler was struck from behind by a northbound 2000 Acura sedan driven by Christopher Bresmon, 34, of Southbury, police report.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Bresmon an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Multiple Violations
Police report that at about 6:16 pm on September 22, they stopped motorist Donald C. Thennes II, 33, of Derby on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with High Rock Road, for a motor vehicle violation.
After investigating, police charged Thennes with driving a vehicle without a front marker plate and with driving a vehicle with a suspended registration.
Police released Thennes on a written promise to appear on October 7 in Danbury Superior Court.
Disorderly Conduct
After learning that police held a warrant on him, Brian Shepard, 28, of 25 Cricket Trail went to the police station on the evening of September 22 and turned himself in, police report.
Police said they charged Shepard with disorderly conduct in connection with a dispute that occurred at 25 Cricket Trail on August 5.
Police released Shepard on a written promise to appear in court on October 5.
Vehicular Violations
Police report that they stopped motorist Amanda Roberts, 21, of Bethel on Brushy Hill Road about 7:30 am September 23 for a speed violation which had occurred on Elm Drive.
After investigating, police charged Roberts with traveling too fast and with driving while under suspension. Police released Roberts on a written promise to appear in court on October 6.
Sandy Hook Accident
Motorist Virginia Clyne, 58, of 26 Chestnut Hill Road was driving a 2008 Mercury SUV northward on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Wasserman Way, about 7:30 am on September 23, when Clyne stopped the Mercury for traffic conditions, after which it was struck from behind by northbound motorist Arayna Dixon, 47, of New Haven, who was driving a 2000 Chevrolet SUV, according to police.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Dixon for following too closely.
Honda Vs Chevrolet
Motorist Paul Hubina, 52, of 3 Sunset Hill Road was driving a 1998 Chevrolet northward on South Main Street and then stopped to make a proper left turn onto Orchard Hill Road about 1 pm September 18, when the Chevrolet was struck from behind by a northbound 1997 Honda driven by Tara Pierce, 18, of New Milford, police said.
Ambulance volunteers responded to the accident scene to treat the two people in the Honda, police report. Both of those people refused medical transport, police said. Police issued Pierce an infraction for following too closely.
Unsafe Backing
About 8 pm September 23, motorist Ian Hripak, 17, of 96 Glen Road was backing a 1986 Chevrolet pickup truck out of a residential driveway at 12 Georges Hill Road, when Hripak backed into a curbside residential mailbox across the street, according to police.
Hripak was nor injured. Police said they issued him a written warning for unsafe backing.
Highway Crash
State police report that motorist Crystal Roadman, 25, of Hoodspot, Wash., was traveling westward on Interstate 84, about 4,000 feet west of Exit 9, about 12:49 am September 22, in a 2000 Ford F-350 truck, when she was involved in an accident.
State police said Roadman told them that a vehicle had turned in front of her, after which she turned to avoid colliding with that vehicle. State police said Roadman told them that her right-front tire then blew out causing her to lose control of the truck and collide with a barrier wall along the right road shoulder.
Roadman was not injured. Enforcement information was not available.
I-84 Accident
State police report that at about 2:19 pm on September 20, motorist Justin Parlow, 20, of Derby, who was driving a 2002 BMW 330-CI on an Exit 11 ramp for Interstate 84, struck the rear end of a 2003 Audi A-4 driven by Norma Vidal, 54, of Shelton.
There were no injuries. Parlow failed to drive a reasonable distance apart, state police said.
Burglary/Larceny
Police are investigating a burglary/larceny that occurred at a Poverty Hollow Road home located near that streetâs intersection with Greenleaf Farms Road.
Police learned on the afternoon of September 27, that someone entered the basement and stole approximately 136 feet of copper piping. There was no sign of forced entry.

Dodgingtown Collision
About 7:42 am on September 27, motorist William Martin, 54, of Bethel was driving a 2003 Jeep SUV southward on Dodgingtown Road, near its intersection with Rooster Ridge Road, when the vehicle collided with a deer, police said.
The deer ran off into the woods. Martin was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
DUI Arrest
Police report that motorist Matthew Gray, 23, of Plantsville was observed crossing over the roadâs center lines on Hawleyville Road, near its intersection with Mt Pleasant Road, about 12:46 am on September 29.
Police stopped Gray to investigate and then charged him with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right.
After processing the case, police released Gray on $50 bail for an October 13 court appearance.
Fairfield Hills Incident
At about 10:20 pm on September 26, police received a report concerning suspicious activity at Fairfield Hills, so they went there to investigate.
Police said they located Samantha Oritz, 21, of Cumming, Ga., there and then learned that she was wanted on a warrant held by Trumbull police.
Police charged Ortiz with second-degree failure to appear in court, driving with a suspended vehicle registration, and driving with an inoperable tail lamp.
After processing, police released Ortiz on $500 bail for an October 8 appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
Shoplifting
Police are investigating a shoplifting case at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street in which an unidentified male and female stole 12 cans of powdered infant formula from the store and then left the area at about 9:52 pm on September 25.
Patrol Officer John McCluskey, who is investigating the theft, asks anyone with information on the matter to contact him at the police station at 203-426-5841.

Tractor-Trailer
Richard Zyrlis, 57, of Guilford was driving a tractor-trailer truck in the parking lot at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street on September 21, when the truck struck a traffic island and a stop sign, police said.
Zyrlis had been attempting to make a right turn near the Bank of America when the accident occurred.
There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
South Main Crash
About 6:14 pm September 28, motorist Douglas Fink, 45, of Monroe was driving a 2001 Nissan sedan southward on South Main Street and then attempted to make a right turn onto Orchard Hill Road, but the Nissan skidded on the South Main Street pavement, police said.
Southbound motorist Dawn Roman, 46, of 14 Pastorâs Walk, who was driving a 1998 Plymouth sedan, then attempted to stop, but skidded on the South Main Street pavement and struck the rear end of the Nissan.
There were no injuries. Police issued Roman a written warning for following too closely.
Rear-End Accident
Motorist Beatriz Sandoval, 64, of Milford, who was driving a 2008 Chevrolet sedan southward on South Main Street near its intersection with Swamp Road about 3:47 pm September 28, stopped for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by southbound motorist Paola Donoso, 25, of Monroe, who was driving a 1994 Honda sedan, police said.
There were no injuries. Donoso received a written warning for following too closely.

Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Deborah Muckerman, 38, of New Milford went to the police station on the morning of September 29 and was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing, police said.
The arrest stems from an April 10 incident at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street in which Muckerman entered the supermarket, disregarding a previous warning to her not enter the building that had been issued by the storeâs management, police said.
Police released Muckerman on a written promise to appear October 12 in Danbury Superior Court.
Suspended License
Police said they were dispatched to 151 South Main Street about 8:23 pm September 29 to investigate a report of an erratic driver.
After investigating, police charged motorist Cassandra Jacobsen, 27, of 138 Underhill Road with driving with a suspended license.
Police released her on a written promise to appear in court on October 13.
Tunnel Road
About 6:22 pm September 27, motorist Claudia Sandoval, 32, of 10 Johnson Drive was driving a 2004 GMC SUV southward on Tunnel Road, police said.
At that time, motorist Sean Leja, 24, of 13 Tunnel Road, who was driving a 1999 Ford sedan, was attempting to exit a driveway at that address to enter Tunnel Road, police said.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Leja an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.
