Caroline A. (Van Houten) Lockwood, 68, formerly of Pondview Terrace, Danbury, wife of the late William L. Lockwood, Sr, died October 1 at Glen Hill Harborside Health Care Center.
She was the sister of Ruth Burke of Newtown.
Born February 9, 1933 in Bethel, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Charlotte (Morrison) Van Houten. Mrs Lockwood was employed by the Danbury Board of Education as a food service worker in the cafeteria of Danbury High School and later at Rogers Park Junior High, retiring after numerous years of service.
She was a member of St James Episcopal Church and a member of the Bethel American Legion Post 100 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs Lockwood is survived by two sons, Edwin E. Lockwood and his wife, Kate, of Danbury and William L. Lockwood, Jr, of New Milford; a daughter, Carol Ann Taylor of Sonora, Ky.; three brothers, Al Van Houten of California, Walt Van Houten of California, and Richard Van Houten of Danbury; another sister, Charlotte Brown of Plymouth, N.H.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Friday, October 5 at 11 am. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours were scheduled at the Green Funeral Home on Thursday, October 4, from 5 to 8 pm.
