Endorses Charlie Gardner
To The Editor:
I am writing to proudly endorse my husband, Charlie Gardner, who is running for the Board of Selectmen. For the past nine years, our family has called Sandy Hook home, and it has been such a gift to raise our children in this community. From Merryhill Childcare Center, to Hawley, Sandy Hook Elementary, Reed Intermediate, and now the Middle School, our kids have been shaped by the people, schools, and spirit that make Newtown so special. Like many families, we want our children to be able to afford to live and thrive here as adults, and one day, Lord willing, for our grandchildren to do the same.
From his time on the Legislative Council, many know Charlie as a level-headed conservative who believes in smart, responsible growth. That’s true. But beyond that I see the husband and father who stays up late nights poring over town budgets, zoning plans, referendums and reports, brainstorming ways to improve Newtown. He is the most rational, steady, and caring person I know, and he has devoted so much of our family’s time and energy to serving this community because he truly believes Newtown can, and should, be even better for the next generation.
Whether it’s keeping taxes stable, prioritizing public safety, protecting open space, supporting seniors, or strengthening our schools, Charlie’s vision for Newtown comes from a place of love and commitment, not politics. His heart is firmly rooted here, and he wants this town to be the very best place it can be for all of us who call it home.
I hope you will join me in supporting my husband Charlie for the Board of Selectmen!
