To The Editor:

I am writing to offer my endorsement of Dr Neil Chaudhary for Newtown’s Police Commission. I share with you three important qualities that Neil, a long-time friend, offers the people of Newtown.

First, Dr Chaudhary uses an informed, data-driven approach to decision making. This is central to his business as his firm collects, analyzes, and presents traffic and safety data to federal and state governments across the nation. He has and will continue to do this to make sound, informed decisions as part of the commission.

Second, Neil cares about Newtown. He and his wife, Jennifer, are committed to the town and strive to make it a better place for all through their many and varied volunteer efforts. Just two examples include the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Rotary Club.

Finally, please know that Neil is thoughtful, kind, and driven to do what is right. Rather than espousing a political party’s line or a rigid philosophy about how things “should be,” he leans in, listens, and works hard to find common ground and mutual understanding. Having spent much time with Neil in family settings and in community activities, I know him to be a person of great character.

The people of Newtown will be making an excellent choice by voting for Dr Neil Chaudhary for Newtown’s Police Commission in November. You can find my friend, Neil, on the Forward Party line of your ballot.
