Halloween Portrait Event Will Benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation

MONROE — Children dressed in Halloween costumes are invited to visit A Touch of Color Photography, 500 Monroe Turnpike, on Wednesday, October 31, from 10 am to 2 pm, to receive a keepsake portrait and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut.

Costumed kids can pose in front of a festive autumn backdrop and receive a professional 5 by 7-inch portrait for a $5 donation. No appointments are needed, all are invited, and drinks and snacks will be provided.

For a third year, photographer Rod Jovanelly is sponsoring the fundraiser with 100 percent of the proceeds dedicated to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses that enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Recent wish experiences provided by Make-A-Wish include a fairy-tale birthday party that included a princess, unicorn-drawn carriage ride and magic show, a dream day in the dugout at Yankee Stadium, a fishing trip to Alaska, and vacations to Disney World and Hawaii.

Wishes do wonders by providing a respite from medical treatments and hospital stays. They let kids just be kids and families spend precious time together.

In addition to the Halloween fundraiser, Mr Jovanelly has also has donated his time and expertise to taking portraits of wish recipients and their families during past Make-A-Wish holiday parties. He will be donating his time again this year to photograph attendees at the foundation’s Fairfield County Ball fundraiser in November.
