Hattertown Accident

Police report motorist Denise A. Myslewski, 46, of 9 Putnam Drive was driving a 1999 Honda CRV northbound on Hattertown Road near Boggs Hill Road about 3:30 pm September 29, when she lost control of the vehicle and struck two wooden posts along the northbound road shoulder.

Neither Ms Myslewski, nor a passenger, were injured, police said. Police verbally warned Ms Myslewski for making a restricted turn.

Bennetts Bridge DUI

Police said motorist John A. Tomlinson, 48, of Danbury was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup truck on Bennetts Bridge Road just behind a 1995 Ford Taurus driven by Byron C. Brown, 82, of Orange at about 2:30 pm on October 3.

A flagman signaled the vehicles to stop for road construction work, police said.

But Tomlinson was unable to stop in time, and struck the rear end of the Taurus, police said. There were no injuries. There was a passenger in the Taurus.

Police said that on investigating the accident, they smelled alcohol on Tomlinson’s breath and gave him field sobriety tests, which he failed.

Police charged Tomlinson with driving under the influence, following too closely, and failure to carry automotive insurance. Police released Tomlinson on bond for an appearance in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
