Priepke Named To Board
MT FREEDOM, N.J. ââ Peter Priepke of Sandy Hook has been named to the board of directors of the Sturge-Weber Foundation. The foundationâs commitment is to support, refer, advocate, and research the cause and management of Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome, and Port Wine Stains.
Sturge-Weber Syndrome is a genetic disease that can manifest itself through glaucoma, seizures, and a range of developmental and behavioral problems. Like Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome involves abnormal vascular growth and manifests itself to varying degrees in the limbs and trunks, and in some cases internal organs, of affected individuals.
Dr Priepke holds a PhD in food science from the University of Illinois and is the vice president of operations strategy at Mottâs (a division of Cadbury Schweppes, plc).
In addition to serving on the foundationâs board, Mr Priepke and his wife, Karla, offer support for Connecticut and Rhode Island families, like theirs, who are affected by Sturge-Weber Syndrome. They have a son, John.
