Early Childhood Seminars

DANBURY — The Early Care and Education Training Institute will be sponsoring a series of seminars for early childhood educators, parents, teachers, and relative caregivers during October and November in Danbury.

“The OSHA Class” is a federal mandate requiring employers in high-risk employee groups to attend. This seminar will cover procedures to reduce the exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other occupational exposures. The seminar will be held on Thursday, October 26, at 7 pm. The fee for this seminar is $25.

“The Power of Play” is a discussion of how children learn naturally and how teachers can foster this development. Based on the work of Dr Michael K. Meyerhoff, the presenter will recommend alternative approaches to stimulate young children through play, help them to develop a love for learning to help build self-esteem, healthy interpersonal relationships, and creativity. The seminar will be held on Thursday, November 2, at 7 pm. The fee for this seminar is $18.

All of the workshops are held at Datahr Rehabilitation Center in Brookfield, Connecticut. Participants receive continuing education credits for attendance. Each workshop is CCAC TAB approved and open to early childhood caregivers and teachers, parents and grandparents. Pre-registration is necessary and seating is limited. Reservations may be made by calling the ECETI at 203/426-9663.
