Resident May Sue Over Medical Call
A Danbury law firm has filed a notice with the town of a local manâs intention to sue the town and/or the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps concerning a corps response to a medical call at his home last May.
In the notice of intent to sue received October 4, Alan Barry & Associates, LLC, Attorneys At Law, states that David Tanner of 21 Equestrian Ridge intends to sue on behalf of his son, Bradley Tanner, age 12.
The law firm alleges the ambulance corps made a slow and negligent response to an emergency 911 call at the Tanner residence. The notice states that Bradleyâs mother, Linda Tanner, placed the call at approximately 11:50 pm on May 7 to get help for Bradley, who was experiencing an acute asthma attack. The notice, however, does not state the time of day when the ambulance arrived at the home.
The notice the states the town was negligent in responding to the call in up to six different ways, adding that the situation resulted in up to 16 or more different problems for Bradley.
Mr Tanner intends to seek damages to compensate his son, according to attorney Barry. Â
