SHU Names A New Director

FAIRFIELD — Anthony D. Macari has been named director of Sacred Heart University’s Stamford Campus. Mr Macari is currently an adjunct faculty member for the University’s College of Business.

A seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience, Mr Macari has worked with Fortune Brands, including positions as director of corporate development, where he was responsible for acquisitions and divestitures, and director of planning, where he developed the financial and strategic plans for the corporation. He also worked for Kiewit Continental, PepsiCo, Emery Worldwide, and Quoteship.com.

“Sacred Heart is known for its quality academic programs and its focus on each student’s individual success,” he said. “I grew up in Stamford and know the city very well. I am very excited about this opportunity because the University has so much to offer working adults in Stamford and the surrounding area. When I look at Sacred Heart’s University College with my corporate sensibilities, I am very impressed with the variety of courses, the small class size and the caliber of the professors – many of whom have years of business experience.”

Mr Macari received a bachelor of arts degree and an MBA from the University of Connecticut at Storrs, and a juris doctor degree from Pace University. He has taught at Albertus Magnus and the University of Bridgeport. He lives in New Canaan with his wife and two sons.
