On Saturday, October 11, The Quilt Shop by Lois will host a ribbon cutting at its new location within Lexington Gardens, 32 Church Hill Road. The ceremonial snipping is scheduled for 11 am. Owner Lois Mitchell is entering her eighth year of doing business.

Mitchell wrote on her website, “Each of those years has been filled with challenge and a sense of adventure. Each year has brought us new friends. Whether you are looking for a class to learn new techniques, or a place to find inspiration, we are here for you. We hope that you will join us as we move forward.”

Newtown Economic and Community Development Director John Voket said, “I was … there years ago when Lois Mitchell celebrated her grand opening on Queen Street, and I’m so happy she has chosen to stay and continue growing her business a few doors down at its new home in the Lexington Gardens complex.”
