A Benefit For The

Kidney Foundation

To the Editor:

The dinner held on September 29 at the Sandy Hook Firehouse in memory of Butch Sears to benefit the Connecticut chapter of the Kidney Foundation was a huge success. Many were in attendance and a good time was had by all.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many businesses and individuals for their very generous donations which made this evening happen: Holcomb Fuel, Pizza Palace, Lexington Gardens, Newtown Oil Company, Newtown Tire, Mona Lisa Restaurant, Stop and Shop of Newtown, Newtown Car Care, Pizza Villa, Leo’s Restaurant, Kim’s Cuts, Blue Colony Diner, Fireside Restaurant, Amaral Motors, Sandy Hook Diner, 100 Church Hill Restaurant, Rathskeller Lounge, Hot Shots, Southbury Car Care and Car Wash, Villarina’s Pasta, Newtown Hardware, Fair Auto Supply of Newtown, Fair Auto Supply of Monroe, Contractors Supply H.I. Stone and Son, Pootatuck Spirits, Burr Farms, Newtown Ice Cream Shop, Gainfield Farms Golf Shop, Gainfield Farms Golf Course, Newtown Dunkin Donuts, and Newtown Properties – Bill Trudeau.

A very special thanks to Kevin “Music Man” Koschel who did a fabulous job with the raffle and the music, Jack “The Chef” Guidi who orchestrated the wonderful food, to Sherry and Michael Burton of Pootatuck Spirits who generously donated beer and wine, and to the Sandy Hook Fire and Rescue, which gave us the use of its facility.

Lastly we would like to thank all the wonderful people who purchased tickets, made donations and volunteered their time to help. Butch was a loving caring man and it was truly a tribute to his memory that so many people were involved in this fundraiser that will go towards helping others with kidney disease.

Thank you all.
