Searching For The Historical Jesus

FAIRFIELD — The eighth annual Christopher F. Mooney, SJ, lecture in Theology, Religion, and Society will be given by John R. Donahue, SJ, the Raymond E. Brown Distinguished Professor of New Testament Studies at St Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore. The lecture will be held Wednesday, October 24, at 8 pm, in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University. Father Brown will speak on “The Answer is in the Question: Searching for the Historical Jesus.”

The lecture honors the Rev Mooney, who served Fairfield as academic vice president from 1980-1987 and then a professor of religious studies until his death in 1993. He was also the author of seven books, including Teilhard de Chardin and The Mystery of Christ, which won the National Catholic Book Award.
