Cancer Society Courage Award

WILTON –– The American Cancer Society is currently seeking nominees to be considered for its Courage Award that recognizes an outstanding individual who exemplifies the society’s mission. The society’s mission, as a community-based voluntary health organization, is to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

The Courage Award recognizes a cancer patient who serves as a role model due to his or her personal strength and courage in combating cancer and the multitude of issues surrounding the disease. The recipient of this award will be honored at the Southwestern Connecticut’s Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner being held at Belzoni’s Red Lion Restaurant in Ridgefield on November 6.
