Philharmonia Virtuosi To Play

Ives Concert Hall

DANBURY — For its first concert of the season, Danbury Concert Association will sponsor a performance by the chamber orchestra Philharmonia Virtuosi on Sunday, October 12, at 3 pm. The ensemble will play at Ives Concert Hall, at 181 White Street on the midtown campus of Western Connecticut State University. The performance will be presented by DCA in cooperation with the university’s music department.

The program includes works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Edward Elgar, Samuel Barber, Gustav Holst and Bela Bartok. Mela Tenenbaum will perform as soloist on violin and viola d’amore.

Danbury Concert Association, a nonprofit organization that has promoted and brought live performances to the area for over 60 years, presents a series of four concerts in a season that spans fall and spring. Admission is by subscription, at $32 per adult for the four-concert series. Through a grant from Danbury Cultural Commission, those 18 and under are admitted free. Guest tickets for those who accompany subscribers or students are $12 each, available at the door.
