Rural Life Museum Open On Limited Basis

WOODBURY — The Buz Russell Farm and Rural Life Museum at Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust will be open to the public on Saturday, October 18, from 1 to 4 pm.

The new museum, a converted three-bay garage on the nature center’s property, displays farm tools dating from the 19th and early 20th Century. Also shown are toys such as cast-iron trucks, fire engines, and old sleds, all from the personal collection of Bethlehem resident Buz Russell, and which is now part of Flanders’ and Woodbury’s heritage.

Saturdays, November 1, will be the last opportunity this season the museum will be open to the public, also from 1 to 4 pm. No registration is required and admission is free.

The museum, adjacent to Flanders’ “north barn,” is on Flanders Road, a short distance beyond Church Hill Road and about three miles north of Route 6 in Woodbury. For further information, call 263-3711.
