Strides Walk Set For Oct. 19

The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is being held on Saturday, October 19, at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Breast cancer survivors are invited to attend a Survivor Breakfast at the walk to celebrate ten years of successful fundraising to benefit research, early detection and patient support programs. This complimentary breakfast will be held in the Survivor Tent at 10 am.

The American Cancer Society is also interested in recognizing any survivors who have attended the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk for the last ten years.

Local Newtown walkers will include Bek Meyers, who is seeking sponsors and can be reached at 364-1783, and Judy Volpe of Avance Esthetiques, who is once again forming a team of walkers. To join her team, call the spa at 270-8911.
