Sunday In Sandy Hook—

Connecticut Choral Society To

Host Wine Tasting Fundraiser

A gala auction and wine tasting to benefit Connecticut Choral Society will be held at McLaughlin Vineyards in Sandy Hook on Sunday, October 12, from 3 until 5:30 pm.

The afternoon will include silent and live auctions, hors d’oeuvres, and entertainment provided by the Chamber Singers, an a cappella group from the CCS.

Among items to be auctioned are a one-week timeshare in either Austria or Antigua; a two-night fully catered Vermont getaway in a private lakeside home in either summer or winter; a day of golf for two (hosted by the donors) at Ridgewood Country Club;  a collection of sterling silver serving pieces and specially selected estate and antique jewelry from Bradford House Antiques in Litchfield; a gift certificate at the acclaimed new Grappa restaurant in Southbury;  a circa 1920 white gold and enamel brooch from Gayle O’Neill Jewelry;  marcasite and carnelian earrings from  Sullivan Jewelers; interesting gift baskets, fine crafts, and  many other very special goods and services.

Besides being considered one of the premier choral groups in the region, Connecticut Choral Society is noted for its outstanding outreach programs which include competitive scholarships to talented high school students for the study of music, and the partnering with a selected local non-profit at each concert.

The public is cordially invited to attend this festive event. Tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 at the door. Call 800-555-5250 or visit www.CTChoralSociety.org for information and reservations.

The vineyard is on Alberts Hill Road, off Walnut Tree Hill Road in Sandy Hook.
