Support The Band

With Bottles And Cans

To the Editor:

We are now in the middle of the fall season and I would like to address an important aspect of our high school that needs your deposit bottles and cans. The Newtown Marching Nighthawks give entertainment during football half-time shows, participate in competitions, and provide healthy experiences for many talented students. As a member of the band I am able to participate in my worthwhile activities and events.

 Therefore, we would like your support in one of the biggest fundraisers for the Band Parents and the marching band, the bottle and can drives. We have three drop-off points for bottles and cans, in different parts of the town. The three drop-off points are at the landfill, behind Newtown Hardware store, and at Berkshire Motors. The Band Parents also has a drive every second Saturday of the month, during the spring, summer and fall. The one this month is on this Saturday, October 11, at the corner of Church Hill Road and Queen Street. The low brass and low reed section will be running it, from 9 am to 12:30 pm. As a trombone player, I am asking for your support in this month’s drive. Help our section to raise the most money for the band.
