Betsy Paynter Is Uniquely Qualified For Zoning Board Of Appeals Alternate

To The Editor:

As a resident of Newtown for well over 20 years, I can attest that I wholeheartedly endorse Betsy Paynter for Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate.

I’m grateful Betsy came into my world many years ago as her friendship and kindness has proved invaluable while raising our families together here in Newtown.

In recent years I have come to appreciate both Betsy’s love for and knowledge about Newtown and also her innate ability to channel that love and knowledge into practical use. Specifically:

Betsy has extensive experience in economic development and working with various zoning departments in the Western CT region.

Betsy’s volunteer work with Edmond Town Hall. Her work in updating their business plan has significantly contributed to their current success.

Betsy spearheaded Newtown’s efforts to obtain the Cultural District designation with the Department of Arts. This benefited both Edmond Town Hall and Newtown’s tourism efforts.

Betsy’s support of the town is apparent through the regular volunteering she does throughout Newtown including at The Newtown Arts and Music Festivals.

Betsy’s extensive knowledge of zoning and land use would be extremely beneficial for this position.

The combination of Betsy’s knowledge, experience, respect and love for the Newtown community, kindness and contagious spirit, make her uniquely qualified for this position.
